Dr. David Adams is a board certified dermatologist and a Fellowship-Trained Mohs surgeon as well as the founder of Coastal Skin Surgery and Dermatology. His greatest professional joy is to clear skin cancer and to perform a reconstruction that has no visible signs that a surgery was ever performed.

Highly trained to effectively treat many types of skin cancer, preserve healthy skin, and ensure excellent cosmetic results, Dr. Adams has mastered the Mohs Surgical techniques, complex microscopic cancer interpretation, and advanced cosmetic reconstruction techniques.
Dr. Adams is a native of Villanova, Pennsylvania, however he now calls Niceville, Florida home. He earned a Bachelor’s of Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Delaware and worked for the DuPont Company before attending medical school. Dr. Adams was awarded a Health Professions Scholarship with United States Air Force and attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, graduating in 1993. After completing his internship in general surgery, Dr. Adams served 5 years in the United States Air Force as a flight surgeon. One of the highlights of Dr. Adams’ Air Force career was to serve as the flight surgeon for the United States Air Force Thunderbirds. This special privilege provided the opportunity for extensive travel within the United States and the opportunity to provide specialized medical care to the Thunderbird Team and their families. Dr. Adams flew more than 70 flights in the Thunderbird F-16’s and had the privilege to fly in every position of the formation. During his Air Force career, Dr. Adams met his wife, Mary, who is a Niceville native. However serving 5 years Air Force, Dr. Adams began his dermatology residency training at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. After completing his residency, Dr. Adams continued his education at Geisinger Medical Center and completed a one-year Fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and procedural dermatology.
Dr. Adams and his family moved to Niceville in 2005 where he began practice as a Fellowship Trained Mohs surgeon and dermatologist. Since that time, Dr. Adams has performed over 14,000 Mohs micrographic procedures. Dr. Adams currently serves as the President of the Caduceus Society of the Emerald Coast.
In his personal time, Dr. Adams enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children, traveling, and in-shore and off-shore fishing.
