Acne Treatment
Acne is the most common skin condition in the United States affecting persons of all ages.
A common misconception is that you have to let acne run its course, when in fact, dermatologists know that letting acne run its course is not always the best advice. Without treatment, acne can cause dark spots and permanent scars once the acne clears and can cause low self-esteem.
Acne can appear on the face, back, chest, neck, shoulders, upper arms and buttocks. Signs of acne may include any of the following: blackheads, whiteheads, papules, pustules, cysts, and/or nodules. Treatment options for acne range from topical creams, oral medication, laser treatments, and chemical peels. Today, virtually every case of acne can be successfully treated.
